ADO Data Link

An ADO Data Link is a file with a .udl extension that links to the database.

Note that if you open an such a file in Notepad, you find it contains an ADO connection string.

The easiest way to create an ADO Data Link is to choose New followed by Microsoft Data Link in My Computer or the right-click menu in the desktop.
