This dialog is used to open databases using an ADO connection.

Three types of connection are available :-

• Data Link File uses a data link file with a .udl extension to link to the database.

• ODBC Data Source Name uses an ODBC Data Source. This is usually a file with a .dsn extension.

• Connection String uses a full connection string entered by the user.

An SQL statement or record source typed into Record Source completes the connection.

Check the Work Directly on Data box to act directly on the ADO connection and database.

Only do this with large databases, where you do not want to view the individual records, but only the Daisy Chart and the aggregations.

Note that the reading options can be used to ignore rows containing fewer than a given number of values, and set the maximum rows to be read and the maximum width allowed for each value.
