It is recommended that you visit the new Daisy 2003 Web Site and look at Mapping.

The Mapping Fields define how the data is to be mapped in a Daisy Chart. Up to ten different mappings can be used at any one time, with each being mapped using a mapping type and a format.

Consider a simple example, where a database field, Date is mapped by the Day of Week. This would mean that the Date would be converted to Sun, Mon, Tue etc.

Four mapping types are available; text, numeric, date and time. In this example the mapping type of date is chosen.

When the mapping type has been chosen, you can then choose one of the appropriate mapping formats. In this case Day of Week is selected.

There are nearly a hundred mapping formats, covering the handling of numbers, dates, times, text, addresses, post and zip codes, E-Mail addresses, phone numbers and many, many more!

See Mapping Formats in the Reference of the Daisy Manual or the Help for a full list of mapping formats.
