Daisy Analysis New in Daisy 2000 - Web Site Log Files

Back

In larger versions of Daisy 2000 (Lite Plus up!), extra features have been added to the reading of Web Site Log files.

There is also a baby version of Daisy 2000 called Daisy Lite 2000 Web, that can read Web Site Log files with up to 30,000 Records.

Three types of Web Site Log files can be read :-

  1. Typical Common Log Files as defined on the www.w3.org Web Site.

This format contains seven fields; Remote Host, rfc931, AuthUser, Date, Request, Status and Bytes.

  2. Files augmented with the extra fields; Referrer and Browser.

  3. Files which conform to the Extended Log File format. Again this format is defined at www.w3.org.

The file must contain a #Fields directive, which defines the fields in the Log File.

Files can have either a CR/LF or an LF delimiter between lines and they can either be space or tab separated.
